Each week we will publish one profile of a successful local business, called a Local HotSpot. To apply, read the FAQs below and complete the application by clicking HERE.
Is my business eligible to apply?
Business owners who offer an immediate product or service the general public can benefit from are encouraged to apply. Business examples include restaurants, boutiques, insurance providers, non-profits, doctor offices, etc. You must also hold a City of Duluth business license.
How does the City’s Marketing Department decide which business will be the spotlight for the week?
City staff will do an initial screening to ensure you meet the above criteria, all questions are answered and quality photos have been submitted. We will then choose one business by random generator each week and publish a short profile.
Do I need to share photos?
Yes, quality photos are a big part of a successful promotion. In order to qualify as a Local HotSpot, a photo submission must be of high quality (professional photos are not required).
When will I know if I’m being spotlighted?
If your application is approved, you will receive an email notification letting you know that you have been added to the list. If your business is chosen by random draw, you will be notified by email before publication.
Where will the weekly Local HotSpot be featured?
A new Local HotSpot will be selected every Thursday and they will receive a feature in the weekly newsletter, on the City's website and on the City's social media.
