New Collection Pick-Up Day Starting April 29. 2024

It is the responsibility of each resident to place such garbage or refuse at the curbside no later than 7:00 a.m. on that day. Residential pick up may be done as early as 7:30am and as late as 7:30pm.  Residential trash collection will not occur on the following holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Do not place trash on curbs before 3:00pm on the day before pick up.

Republic Services prefers that you do not use cans, containers, or other units to hold bags. However, if you insist, use only Republic Services bags placed inside the container. Leave the lid off so the bags may be clearly seen. Do not tie the bag to the container. If you do use a special container, the City of Duluth cannot guarantee that your garbage will be picked up since this is not part of the City contract.

Republic Services offers Yard Waste pickup. They will only pick up ten bags per visit. Republic Services will pick up large bulky items such as mattresses, sofas, furniture, appliances. Contact them 24 hours ahead of time at 678.963.2873 for current pricing and to schedule a pick up time. Residents are required to attach a purple Duluth trash bag to the item. Residents are allowed no more than two large items a week. Republic Services does not accept  auto parts, tires, or any rebuilding or remodeling material.

Only refuse placed in the specially marked bags (Republic Services) sold by the City of Duluth as provided by Republic Services, the contractor for the City, will be picked up by the contractor.
